Techno clubs in Istanbul: where to dance
Istanbul's electronic scene is bigger than many visitors expect. Local DJs and international names play in old warehouses in Karaköy, former factory buildings in Bomonti, Bosphorus-side clubs in Beşiktaş and basement rooms in Kadıköy. When the live bands finish around midnight, the dance floors are just getting started.

Beyoğlu and Karaköy
Beyoğlu is the center of Istanbul's electronic scene. Blind, Kastel, 360 Istanbul, Club Olimpia Taksim and Quba Club Taksim run regular DJ nights. Frankhan Selectist offers a curated sound across its rooms, while Suma Han and NOH Radio host more experimental, community-driven events.
Down on the Karaköy waterfront, Karaköy Pier occasionally hosts special parties. Clubs are close together, so you can walk between them.
Şişli: Bomonti and Harbiye
Bomonti's old industrial buildings make great dance floors. AFRO Istanbul Club, WU Bomonti, Klooz Istanbul and Blok Mekan Bomonti are known for DJ nights, and Klein Harbiye is a respected name in the local electronic scene. ALTA Nişantaşı, The Lobby İstanbul and barrio. Topağacı offer house sets in a bar setting.
Bomonti is also easy to reach: it is a short taxi ride or a walk from the Osmanbey metro stop on the M2 line, which makes it a practical choice if you are staying around Taksim or Şişli and want a big room with a serious sound system without a long journey home.
Beşiktaş and Ortaköy
Ruby, Sortie, Boâz Live, OLÉ İstanbul and Pasha Club İstanbul offer glamorous nights, some with Bosphorus views. These clubs can be selective at the door, so dress the part. Around Beşiktaş market, Beer Port and Limoncello are more casual spots with DJs.
Kadıköy
The Asian side's scene is smaller and more underground. Avalon Kadıköy, Bina, Arkaoda, Echoes, Oxo and BOA Club are known for DJ nights, while Ayı Pub & Disko and İncir Pub keep things relaxed. If you live on the Asian side, you don't need to cross the bridge for a good night.
Kadıköy clubs are mostly in the market area, a few minutes from the ferry pier.
Sarıyer, Bakırköy and Beylikdüzü
In Sarıyer, Klein Phönix, FLUX Istanbul and Kafes host electronic events, and Life Park stages big open-air festivals. Bakırköy has Nispet Club, 74 Hall Performance and Ataköy Marina Arena; Beylikdüzü has Araki İstanbul and Obsesif Performance. Some of these open only for specific events.
Techno, house and the rest
Techno is darker and more hypnotic, house is warmer and groove-driven, deep house and melodic techno are more atmospheric, and tech house sits in between. Tags on GIGO venue cards show what a venue usually plays, but the same club might do techno one night and disco the next.
That is why checking the night's line-up is essential.
